this book was very different from to what i normally read, but i was pleasantly surprised! i found it really unique (probanbly because it is my first read from the genres) and i really enjoyed the setting, time period, and the atmosphere that came along with them.
i also really liked the spooky/horror aspect of it! for spookier books i usually lean towards thrillers, so i liked how different this was from that and that i was branching out from what i normally read. it was the perfect amount of spooky/horror, for me, and the writing was descriptive making it easy to visualize what was happening, which i think is needed for a story like this.
i think mexican gothic would do really well as a movie, and it would bring the story to life even more, so hopefully we get that sometime in the future! some of the aspects also reminded me of the family upstairs by lisa jewell so if you were a fan of that give this a try :) i am excited to dive more into both the gothic and horror genres, especially with fall coming, so if anyone has any recommendations please let me know! <3

omg such good news! do you know what platform it'll be on/who is making it?

It's going to be a limited series on Hulu! They're still in the early stages of planning it right now but it's going to be about 8-10 episodes long from what I heard!
