I've been curious about this book for a really long time. There is some serious content warning in this and I think the hype around that is what makes people love it or hate it.
I don't think Verity was particularly well written or creative but I was VERY curious about what the hell was going on. The twist ending did not impress me though. I kind of feel like Colleen just wanted to write crazy stuff for the shock factor and to get people talking. Also way way too much sex in this book.
I didn't hate it but I wouldn't say it was very good either. But I was curious and it kept me turning the page. Based on the amount of sex she included, however, I don't see myself ever reading one of her romance novels.

Jan, i guarantee you've read a 100 better mysteries. The only thing interesting about this book is the shock value which you can probably find in spoilers.
Thanks for your honest review, Katie. I've also been curious about this one, but suspected that all the hype was because of the shock value. I think I'll pass.
