it was amazing
bookshelves: classics, literature, horror

One of Poe's most thrilling and popular stories, it's been referenced again and again in stories, books, and movies. The suspense is thrilling and just when you think our unnamed narrator (as usual) is going to get away with murder, his madness (or maybe his guilt) kicks in and he suddenly starts to hear the ominous thumping of a beating heart, seemingly coming from his dismembered victim. One of his best stories and could be argued his creepiest, Poe does it again with the Gothic Horror Genre. One of my favorite authors and highly recommended.

Coleadamwilliams I don't see the reason why you like this story so much. Not creepy at all.

midnightfaerie I think maybe you have a hard time imaging it happening in real life. I have a vivid imagination and see this happening and being terrified by it. Maybe after we watch the show you'll feel differently?
