it was amazing

I really wish this one wasn't over.

I don't even know what to write about it except it was marvelous. The twist at the end was phenomenal. It had been nagging me that perhaps Julia had it all wrong, and I ended up being right.

(view spoiler)

Honestly, this book has left me somewhat speechless. I do wish there had been a bit more with our final two, however. The ending seemed abrupt. Astoundingly romantic, but abrupt.

Well, this book made weepy and contemplative, sad and happy. I love books that do that, you know?

Hannah Loved your review. I felt the same way the first time I read Mariana. This is a book I read over and over again.

I can definitely see myself going back to it. I've already read the ending about ten times;)

I think you're probably right, Jill. I'm reading Named of the Dragon right now, and it just doesn't have the same feel. Unlike the other three I've read, I haven't even found a character I like yet, and I'm nearly halfway through.

I'm definitely looking forward to The Firebird. I don't even know what it's about yet, and I don't care!

Joyce I'm contemplating which to read first. The Winter Sea, Mariana or The Rose Garden? What do you think?

Hmmm. I'd start with either Mariana or The Winter Sea. Maybe go Mariana, The Rose Garden, then The Winter Sea. My reasoning behind this is simple; I had a harder time getting into The Rose Garden. Not because it's bad, it just starts out a bit slower than the other two, and had I allowed it to taint my opinion of Kearsley's writing and stop reading, I never would have known what I was missing. The Winter Sea is her latest and, I think, her best besides Mariana. So if you start with Mariana, end with The Winter Sea, and sandwich The Rose Garden in between, I think that would make for a good lineup.

Alex I must confess, I was creeping out in the books you read because I loved your reviews about the fifty shades books, I saw this one and read it in 2 days I couldn't put it down, I just loved it :). Its exactly how you said "this book made weepy and contemplative, sad and happy". Great feeling :)

THANK YOU ;)
