The Lives of Christopher Chant (Chrestomanci, #2)

One of D. Jones' best - so exciting and evocative. I can and always have been able to imagine Christopher's way of getting from world to world. It's a great growing novel, too, seeing Christopher change and start to become aware of others. I love young Christopher and would love more of him and Millie from her - even beyond the events in Conrad's Fate - she's got such strong characters in Christopher and The Goddess/Millie.
I tried reading this book once and was too young, and it bored me. I tried again the next year, and read it on a rainy day, and loved it at once! This is a comfort book, and I love it - every inch, and every scene. Particularly the conference of war scenes that ramp up to the climax. She's so good, she's SO good - and this one is a real tour de force.
