really liked it
bookshelves: fantasy, 2012, animals, indulge, reviewed

This story is bitter-sweet, sentimental to the extreme and stylistically almost childlike in its simplicity, exactly what I expected from a book titled ‘A Dog’s Purpose. It didn’t disappoint. 4 stars for delivering such a charming piece of escapism, couldn’t put it down, polished it off in a day and a half.

And I just want to say to Toby, Bailey, Ellie & Buddy Good Dog!

I really enjoyed that book. Hope you do too.

Florence (Lefty) MacIntosh Thanks Jeannie! I'm an animal lover and it's supposedly pretty funny as well, so I'm really looking forward to it. Just finished "We Need To Talk About Kevin", great book, but you sure need to follow it with something cheerful, rather like cleaning the palette:)

Agnes Houston How did I know you would love this book Florence, lol. Reno & Emma-Lou are good dogs too, tell them I said so.

Lauren I read this and it was a great book but made me cry at moments

Me as well Lauren! Sorry, I missed your post till now.

Amanda Roberts This book changed the way that I looked at my own dogs, taking nothing for granted. It made me think who were they before and where are they going next. After the death of my border collie I was devastated. He knew everything without being taught. An old soul I think. Something inside me wants to believe that a dog's soul can recycle throughout many, many generations. If that hope it's true I hope that someday my Oreo and I will be reunited. Silly as it seems, it calmes my heartache. Thank you for this story.
