Whenever another crazy story about some guy's wife going missing comes on tv, I reiterate to my husband that if things go south with our relationship, he can have whatever he wants. I will make no fuss. There'll be no messy divorce. Let's just kiss and say goodbye. No need to chop me up and pack me away in rubbermaid bins. He usually responds by rolling his eyes and saying I have nothing to worry about. But, hey, better safe than sorry.
So I thought I had this whole thing figured out by page 40. (Imagine my smug looking face here). But of course I didn't. (Insert my shocked face here)This book gripped me from beginning to end. A rollercoaster ride of a story.
Favorite passage: He took away chunks of me with his blase swipes: my independence, my pride, my esteem. I gave, and he took and took. He Giving Treed* me out of existence. * Best new verb ever!
I will say no more.

One of my top 2012 reads.
I keep hearing that. It seems like everbody on the planet got to this one ahead of me.
