" Why do I love You, Sir ?

Because

The wind does not require the Grass

To answer - Wherefore when He pass

She cannot keep Her place .

Because He knows - and

Do not you -

And we know not -

Enough for Us

The wisdom it be so -

The Lightning - never asked an Eye

Wherefore it shut - when He was by -

Because He knows it cannot speak -

And reasons not contained -

Of Talk -

There be - preferred by Daintier Folk -

The Sunrise - Sire - compelleth me

Because He's Sunrise - and I see -

Therefore - Then -

I love Thee. "

J.C. So lovely, Théodore! Enchantingly enigmatic and yet wise (beyond words can express!). Thank you for this small delight.

Théo d'Or Thank you too, Jeanne.
I'm glad I offered a little pleasure.

Oh, I love how she phrases that—though I can't say why:-)

Théo d'Or "Dire qu'il suffit parfois

Qu'il y ait un navire
Pour que tout se déchire

Quand le navire s'en va
Il emmenait avec lui

La douce aux yeux si tendres

Qui n'a pas su comprendre
Qu'elle brisait votre vie. "
