Interesting book, though I also found it challenging to read. I don't know nearly enough about French literature or philosophy. But the basic question he asks is extremely relevant. We hate injustice, and intuitively it seems clearly right to revolt against unjust authority. So why does it nearly always go so wrong when we do so, and end up with an even worse injustice?

Maria Manny why 3 stars???!! This is a fascinating book on a positive rebellion against death, injustice, dictatorships, communism, the repression of art and literature, modern science or anything that represses the values of our existence. He makes a strong reflection of the indifference and is an essay on saying NO!!

Manny I guess I felt frustrated and ignorant because I hadn't read enough of the authors he quotes. It's not him, it's me :)

Maria Ok I forgive you. :)

P.E. I share your views about L'Homme R茅volt茅... The same happened when I took up reading Le mythe de Sisyphe : the question is a valid one, but the demonstration, clear as it seems, grows dense and I hold it gets muddier as you go on. Still relevant today all the same.
