Remind me never to read reviews written by my most ardent "fans."
This book is great, but it appears #TeamStephenson was expecting the opening of the Ark of the fucking Covenant.
If you want a smart, contemporary, geeky, international action thriller written by someone who just spent 10 years writing an epic about the connections between the tech of the 17th century and the tech of the 21st—in longhand, on, like, parchment, with a fountain pen, the showboating bastard—then read this.
It's fun. And funny. And damned good.
If you want something else, put this down, walk away, and go on witcha bad self. Never you worry—there's bound to be a new Patterson out by Tuesday.
That is all.

But reading what these supposedly "smart" people had to say about this smart dude's smart books makes me want to go hulksmash on some fucking lab equipment.

It's this dude. The post-Gibson mantle of Cyberpunkery slipped off his shoulders when he decided to write about metallurgy and Louis the XIV and Barbary pirates, and his fan base went apeshit.
S'just not right.

Btw good evening you two!

Adding a pic:

I've not gotten FB links to work. I either use the URL from Google, or upload something to my Photobucket account.

I was just looking at this at Audible today, 'cause it's on their sff sale. Hmmm.

I've read everything, and oddly enough his baroque cycle was my favorite.

Awwwwww, Joolz, you don't like your Sexies' reviews?!
