GAHHHH MY HEART. all the aurenslade, as always, were EVERYTHING🥺🫶 i will say though the drop in rating is due to me truly not being able to bear all the midas scenes because ugh + also malina chapters are so boring😭 im sorry i skimmed all her chapters because genuinely!! dont care!! otherwise <3

I forgot how much I loved gleam and some important details before I reread this SHFKFBKS slade is just the sweetest😩

The growth in auren is so beautiful every time I see it makes me so happy especially with the ending of this !! The satisfaction I felt seeing pain and suffering for someone🥰 IM SO READY FOR GLOW.

Do you ever just get that heavy feeling in your chest? Like you've just read one of the best books ever and now that new love has been placed into your heart? no? just me💀

No but like that feeling sticks with you for so long😭 This is literally me right now. It's a new obsession and I hate it. I hate it because now I suffer with a book hangover!!😃😃😃 Is it possible to feel high on a book?? I dont even know if that makes sense but that's what I'm feeling. I'm actually going to cry thinking about waiting a year for book 4 like just no please *sobbing*

It's the way I've fallen in love with this series oh god I'm so going to be in a long and agonizing book hangover. Gleam was so addicting, I finished all 611 pages in one day (that should already tell you something) and I have zero regrets. except for the fact that im going to have to painfully wait for book 4 *sobs*

Excuse me if I fail to see any flaws in this right now. I mean yeah, I could care less about Queen Malina's chapters but I think can see where this is all going and I'm intrigued to say the least. (view spoiler)[poor Jeo didnt deserve to die for Malina like why?? smh i was actually hoping Malina would be killed but alas, that didnt happen. She can stay alive (especially now that Midas is dead) AS LONG AS SHE LEAVES AUREN ALONE doubtful (hide spoiler)] I just wanted my Slade x Auren content and that's what I got😌 although there was too much Midas for my liking (view spoiler)[but he finally got the death he deserved so im not complaining🥺 (hide spoiler)]

The character development is phenomenal. The growth Auren has gone through actually just makes me want to cry because it's so beautiful and amazing. She's come a long way and I'm so proud of her. I love the way she embraced her true self. I love the way she realized how toxic Midas truly is. I love that she made a fool out of Midas and embarrassed him so many times. I love how Auren's found someone who loves her for who she is and not her power. especially after having to deal with so many scheming bastards🥺

I have fallen for Slade. I liked him before but I'm just so in love with him now. I mean, he's a guy who owns more daggers than shirts?? How is that not random amazing? And just the anggsstt between Slade and Auren?? I was waitng for so much and it happened at last. There were so many sweet and tender moments where my heart felt like it was just going to burst. These precious moments <3

"I'm glad you're choosing you," he says quietly, and my lips part, like I want to swallow the rumble of his cadence.

"You are?" I go completely still as he moves his hand and grips my chin, like he wants to make sure I'm paying attention.

I am.

"Yes, Goldfinch. Because I am choosing you, too."

I'm a sucker for moments like these and that's all I need say.

"You can't cut off the strings of your puppet and still expect it to move for you."

This series is truly perfect for hating on characters honestly, like the rage I've felt for certain beings is unlike anything else I've felt in other novels. I never thought Midas could get worse than he already is, but it was possible💀 And the reveals?? omg I wouldn't have ever guessed it, just *rage* that bastard.

okay BUT THAT LAST SCENE??? The ending was perfection and I would have it no other way (view spoiler)[actually maybe if Midas suffered even more... I would've been so down with that. I'm perfectly happy with his end though, Auren gilding him was the best😭😭 THANK YOU, RK, FOR MAKING MY DREAM COME TRUE (hide spoiler)] I'm not joking when I say I was cackling out loud JUST YES.

That cliffhanger was cruel though *sobbing* Why do I keep starting series that are incomplete?? I just end up suffering because of the wait... I really need to stop doing this i could never


It's actually insane how vastly different my rating for book 1 and 3 are, but I can definitely say that I don't regret reading this series.
