Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (Harry Potter, #1)

This was my second time through HP number one and it was way more fun than the first time. It helps that I read it to my twins and they couldn't get enough each night. I was usually the one with the scratchy voice and finally noticing what time it was so they could get to bed so I would have to stop.
That makes a book-dad so happy.
Even better, I really focused on all the silly little things Rowling adds that really enriches the world so well. The hilarious ghosts who didn't need to be as engaging as they were, the magical staircases that you have to prepare for to get to class on time, so many little tiny details that make me love this world so so much. Hence why I added a star to my original rating.
This is one of the books that you can essentially replace the book with the movie, that's how good the movie is, but the book does have those details you can focus on better since you can pause and think without making the rest of the audience mad at you.
Possibly my favorite part of the reading experience was that one of my twins said essentially the following (she's 8):
"Daddy, I love that you're my dad and that you do all the voices so well and you should probably do them for the movie because you do such a good job."
My heart! My kids had no chance of not being book people and I love that so much. They're just as bad as me with books and it's the best ever.
4 out of 5 stars (you know what to do)

"Reading with my twins (8 yo) and it's just magical. They were messing around so much last night I had to stop reading and they were devastated. That's a good thing, they love it!"
