Swati Wow, you read this 2 times! I had mixed reactions to this book.

Jennifer Welsh I did, too, Swati! I love Atwood, and had read several of her other books before reading this back in 2009. I thought it was interesting, but it didn't move me. I read it again last year, and appreciated it more. What were your mixed reactions?

Swati Exactly the same! I loved the writing but I somehow never connected or engaged with the plot. It didn't evoke too much emotion. Perhaps, I too need a re-read!

This is my first Atwood! High praise from you means I must read more of her works :)

Jennifer Welsh If you’re looking for more emotion, I’d try Cat’s Eye. It’s her autobiographical novel about girlhood “friends and how childhood traumas can haunt us. Blind Assassin is also great, and has more emotion. I found Handmaid’s Tale cold.

Swati Oh great, thanks for the recos. Blind Assassin was recommended by a couple of my friends too. Cat's Eye sounds great, as well. Thanks, Jennifer!

Jennifer Welsh You’re welcome, Swati. Enjoy! :)

Lisa Oh I love this creepy, chilling tale. I have read it multiple times through the years. Unfortunately, it feels a little too close to home right this minute.

Jennifer Welsh It sure does, Lisa! So disturbing!
