really liked it

I miss Chloe Walsh's books, and I wish Joey's book could come out soon (binding 13). So I started this book for the wrong reasons, but somehow ended up enjoying it.

A stepbrother bully high-school romance with a sweet ending.

Rourke hated his new step sister, Mercedes, from the moment she joined the family. He was cruel to her in the beginning:

"I really want you to forget about the most embarrassing, regrettable night of my life. she said

"Fine, I said flatly, feeling wounded. “You weren’t worth remembering anyway."

They have instant attraction, but they both fight it off until they can't withhold it anymore.

"I wanted Mercedes Owens more than I’d wanted my next breath and it wasn’t a spur of the moment thing either. I wanted my stepsister from the moment I walked into that church and laid eyes on her"

I liked Mercedes here. She wasn't a doormat, which is usually typical in highschool bully romance.

Once Rourke finally admits to himself, he has more feelings for her than just attraction and lust, he becomes so sweet towards her and becomes her protector.

"Are you fucking insane? I am so in love with you, Six, that I’m practically drowning!
