5 stars and more!
World is a better place if books like that exist and are also free!!!!!
Damianos of Akielos and Laurent of Rabat are two princes from enemy kingdoms, kingdoms that have fought with each other over and over again through the years. Enemies since birth!
Damianos is a fighter, a warrior, a man of arms, of straightforward strength, the Prince-killer of Akielos, the beloved son of his people.
Laurent is a boy to-become-man, has lived all his life in the shadow of his brother and instead of force he uses his mind, he is manipulative, intellectual, over-planning and controlling.
What happened when those two people come together? The one in shackles and the one as an arrogant Prince facing the enemy that killed his brother?
“This was Rabat.
Damen shared around himself in horror. He was hundreds miles from home.
It didn’t make sense. Having no illusions when it came to the Rabatians, Damen knew that he could expect to suffer a regrettable accident before long. In fact, it surprised him that he had not suffered one before now. The Rabatian people had good reason to hate Prince Damianos of Akielos. Why was he still alive?
Damen is sold from his brother (the Bastard King) to Rabat as a bed slave destined for the Yound Prince Laurent and, Laurent receives him a the enemy, as a wild animal that needs to be tamed.
The character development of the MC’s and the plot that thickens with every passing page render this work of fiction as one of the best I have recently read. But, before the abrupt ending, we get a glimpse of what Damen and Laurent look like together intimate and in consultation.
“Friends, said Laurent. “Is that what we are?
Laurent’s voice was tightly knotted, as though the answer was obvious; as thought it was as obvious as what was happening between them, the air disappearing mote by mote.
Damen said, with helpless honesty, “Laurent, I am your slave.
“That man had laid hands on Laurent, and Damen was going to kill him. When he came back to himself, more than one man was holding him down.
“It was like being pleased by a thorn bush, feeling fond of every prickle.
“Say it.
“I’m going to leave tomorrow, said Damen, as steadily as he could. I’m not going to come back. He drew in a breath that hurt his chest. “Laurent- -
“No, I don’t care. Tomorrow you leave. But you’re mine now. You’re still my slave tonight.
The only disadvantage of this book is that it ends in a time when everything is happening, the relationship between Laurent and Damen is still developing brick by brick, the war between Laurent and the Regent is still in full scale, allies and foes come forward in amazing rhythm and Damen cannot hide his true identity anymore.
I’m really looking forward to the next book but to tell you the truth I’m quite happy with it as it is, if it is never completed I will be glad to have experienced this journey.
“Together we can do what we cannot do apart. And Damen stared at Laurent, feeling the cold down to his bones, as Laurent said: ”Because for everything that my uncle and Kastor planned, they had no idea what they did when they gifted me with you.

To say I LOVED IT would be a moderate characterization!!!

To say I LOVED IT would be a moderate characterization!!!"
Know the feeling :D. The chapters are veeery slow in arriving though.

No, I meant the chapters so far. The chapters of book 2 were separated by several months if not more.

Great review and good point.:)
