it was amazing

Hmm... Must have read this before I got on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ. It wowed me...after I figured out what was going on. Now that the movie is out and making waves, it's a good thing I have read it, because this is just the kind of movie I would waste the whole two hours and whatever not getting.

I was just trying to figure out when I read it--certainly not when it first came out...ah! have located in 1/08 "holiday letter," revealing that I read it in 2007.

Steve I was glad I read it before the movie, too. It would have been a difficult film to follow with all the jumping it did in time. I was surprised it worked as well as it did for as random as the structure seemed (in contrast to Mitchell's very ordered telling of the six stories).

Jan Rice I never saw the movie, Steve. I guess I was talked out of it by the poor reviews. What did you think?

Steve I think the most common knock against it was the fragmented structure. But for those who have read the book, I don't think the movie was ever confusing. In fact, you might view its more thematic lumping of scenes to be a clever alternative way of telling the various stories. I ended up liking it more than I thought I would.

Jan Rice Thanks. It sounds like a nice one to watch at home.
