What can I say. Nobody does tortured souls like Sally Rooney!
I enjoyed the story. It's between a 3.5-4 stars for me but the narration was just wonderful so I will stick with the full 4 stars. I know I shouldn't compare books but I must say that I still prefer, Normal People.. This one is a more, "grown-up" story as the two main female characters are 29 years old and contemplating their lives. Alice, is a best selling novelist who communicates with her best friend Eileen through e-mail. Alice has just met a man, Felix through Tinder and Eileen has suffered a recent break-up and has started to see her childhood friend, Simon. Through the e-mails we get a glimpse of each characters thoughts and feelings. As each couple begins their relationships struggles we enjoy some wonderful storytelling from Ms. Rooney!
It's an entertaining book. Tortured souls, damaged relationships and philosophical reflection with a dose of raw honesty. Sally Rooney pulls it off again!

I suggest the mini series (I think on Hulu.). It was soooo good! Followed the book really well too. This one was good too but just not "as" good as that book (for me anyway....) 😉

I like the idea of some of the narration being through emails. Sounds intriguing! Great review, Tina!
