Allegiant (Divergent, #3)

I needed to finish this TODAY because otherwise I wouldn't have been able to study for my test tomorrow.
This review needs to start with a fact. A fact that Allegiant does NOT deserve just one star, especially if it's only one star because of what happens at the end.
Even with a convoluted plot, which caused characters to act strange and volatile in a way they shouldn't have, even with an insubstantial ending, even with the lack of world building... Roth can still write. Her writing style isn't flowery, but it isn't strict either. It's a pleasant in between. She can also write romantic scenes very well, even if there's too many of them during the entirety of the book.
But the aforementioned failures are why Allegiant is not a good book. It's a safe book that lets down its readers who are looking for sensible, interesting answers. It's not fair to those who were enamored with what Roth set up in her initial novel. It's a let down, a disappointment, and I wish it could have been more. I know that it could have been more, if she had tried.
And no, I don't consider that ending "daring"
