after all the drama that unfolded on march 14th/15th, i finally managed to pick up the book after 2 weeks :) no joke i've been in SLUMP because i hate leaving books on hold. i never do that, i just can't focus on anything but the book i'm actually reading. so for the past 2 weeks i've been in a bitchy mood with all my reviews and nothing got me out of it until yesterday when i forced myself to read this.

now for the people that, like me are scared to read this book, read it. its not nearly as bad as everyone claimed it to be. i do believe it was exaggerrated and the whole trend with "never read the series but i'll leave my opinion on this book to 'help the community' " really brought out the worst in people. people that never even read fantasy or ANY of the books in the series, had the need to rate it and start this whole drama. shut up, go and actually pick up a book to read. help the community my ass.


now for the reasons why you should pick it up:

1. i didn't see any romantic flirting between kieran and poppy. idk when people forgot the term platonic but ya thats what I saw. i geniunly only saw friendship between them.

2. i saw more chemistry between kieran and reaver. i'm sorry but if they won't become cannon i'll cry myself to sleep. they just radiate enemies-but-i'll-fuck-you-and-hate-you-at-the-same-time to lovers trope. or in simplier terms HATE SEX . also they just give me the same vibes as:



and yes i know kieran isn't donkey but go with the flow ok.

3. the joining threesome scene was... awkward to me. i don't see how the relationship can become "poly" when JLA can't write a threesome scene without making the reader, aka me, feel like it was one sided. yes one sided. if BY any chance kieran does actually love poppy in the same way cas does, poppy imo doesn't. poppy and kieran won't be anything. even during this fade to black scene it was cas this and cas that. she woke up thinking about cas. poppy's world is cas. cas's world is poppy and the goddamn journal. kieran will never fit in. he can't, and he won't. he'll die (literally) before he comes between his king and queen. idk i felt like the joining scene was super awkward and i just was so thankful that it was fade to black. and come on would anyone actully blame kieran (if he did fall for poppy)? she's so hot and powerful and shinny and idk what. can't blame him. but ya i don't see poppy ever loving him.

now for the shit that i wish i knew and wished people talked about instead are:

1. WHY WERE THEY SEPARATED FOR THAT LONG? JAIL JLA. JAIL. what the actual fuck i was dying for 25 LONG ASS chapters for them to reunite. those 25 chapters actually made me want to DNF the book like 500 times. istg it was so draining.

2. the info dump. if you aren't into it then y'all will struggle. i personally love the info dump idk why i love connecting pieces and adding new things to the ever long plot. so i didn't mind it but i know a lot of people hate it.


anyways,..........

i know people have concerns for the next books in the series. but for this book before ANYTHING happened why are people jumping to conclusions? i get it, if it was confirmed poly. then ya it makes sense to have this riot. but it wasn't confirmed, it wasn't even ??? close to anything poly? do y'all even know what poly relationships are? idk i feel like half of y'all gave JLA even more ideas to screw this series with all your conclusions.

i'm saying this while being the most hypocritical person, but y'all are fucking babies. (yes yes i know i'm a fucking baby too but leave me alone).
