this series is quickly becoming one of my favorites. the way i've grown attached to these characters, this universe, this fast is just- 😩

the first 30% was... okay, imo. i loved reading about Gordo and Mark's past, they were SO cute—especially whenever Mark would be there on the sidelines, protecting him from afar. however, i was more interested in seeing how their story would progress in the present and, unfortunately, it lacked for me and it's mainly bc it felt like they never really had the right time to just sit down and talk about everything. yes, they would have their moments here and there, but it seemed as if the situation of (view spoiler)[Mark and Carter turning into Omegas and the pack tryna find a cure (hide spoiler)] ended up being the main focus of the story and the romance was pushed to the side that it only made me crave more of it. i did like their tension, although i wish (view spoiler)[Dale had never been in the mix, even tho he ended up being a traitor anyways but still (hide spoiler)]. overall, the romance wasn't bad per se, i just didn't find myself completely invested (the way i was for Ox/Joe) bc i expected...more.

romance aside, the side characters were amazing as usual. i've said this in my wolfsong review, but one of my favorite things about this series is the character interactions. whether it's through the romance (even tho this one in particular could have been developed more), familial bonds, friendships, etc, i find most of the side characters entertaining to read about (Gordo's friend group makes me laugh so much, i swear 😭). the ending has me wanting to fight a bitch, but i know Kelly will fuck them up so i'm excited to read his book!! 😌
