She’s back with another unpopular opinion!

I’m shocked this book wasn’t on my TBR since I have a bunch of Emily Henry’s novels on there.

Admittedly, this book took a while for me to read. It could be because I recently read a book with a similar plot but this one felt kind of slow. Even the main characters were reminiscent of the previous book I read.

Okay, I won’t lie, I expected so much more from this book. I’m a bitch for second-chance love, and we got that, but this didn’t feel like an enemies-to-lovers. It felt like the enemies part was back in college (barely, mostly one-sided) and they just got along in the events of the book. I did love the cute and witty banter along with the “research�� dates and note-passing. I think more could’ve been shown to us rather than told to make their chemistry more believable.

I do love Augustus though. I get why a lot of you ravish him. He’s very charming, likeable, and sweet. January was kind of boring to me and annoyingly petty. I loved Shari and a lot of the other townspeople.
