A Long Way Home

An amazing true story.
At one point in his memoir Saroo Brierley invites his readers to take another look at his photo on the cover page, to look into his young, bewildered eyes, to look at the face of a new adoptee flown to the other side of the world, greeted by the love and understanding of his soon-to-be mum and dad, a face already showing a life-time of experiences.
Photos of him as an adult still show hints of bewilderment, but of a different kind, of humbly knowing his story is special and reaches out to us.
Although I feel I’ve come full circle with this story from reading about it in our local news, watching the film ‘Lion a few times, reading Sue Brierley’s account, following 60 Minutes coverage of the reunions and now this, his memoir I have little doubt the journey, adjustments and wonders for Saroo continue.

Agree, Kelly.
Have you watched the movie 'Lion'?
Cheers from CB

Thank you, Maren. Yes, I was also moved by the film. I really liked the scenes in Tasmania, particularly the glimpses of our river and mountain, kunanyi/Mt Wellington. The actors were certainly on point. As far as I know, he still lives here.
