i’m loving all the people saying they won’t read JLA books again after TWOTQ because it means i can continue to gatekeep this masterpiece of a series 🫂
my one qualm with fantasy-romance novels is the lack of romance and the amount of info dumping. this series tho…THE ROMANCE IS SHINING 🤩
nyk and sera are the cutest things i’ve ever seen�
i just adore their dynamic. the whole lovers-to-enemies-to-lovers, PERFECTION😩
nyk is so caring and protective over sera. i just love the way he expresses his jealousy and anger when someone hurts her. i get butterflies when his shadows appear 🥹😩😍🥵
plus, the smut was so much hotter in this book. i love how our inexperienced lil primal started getting confident�
please the scene where he made her cum with his shadows while he hid in her room 🫦

i can’t even begin to express how upset i was when it was revealed that nyk removed his kardia (the part of his soul that allows him to love). this means he can’t love sera like she loves him 😭 i understand why he removed it but god it hurt so bad to realize he couldn’t return sera’s feelings
please, when sera realized she was in love with nyk, i was in tears 😭 and oh my god when he sensed her love but didn’t know what it meant�
the way he can’t love sera but WISHES he could�
pure. torture.
also that ending?! I don’t know what to think anymore 😭 the fact that kolis knew the whole time that sera had the embers of life and all their planning was for nothing. i really don’t know how sera is going to escape kolis
maybe kolis will choose to let her go because he realizes it would be like killing sotoria (the love of his life that jumped off a cliff because she was scared oh him)???
after that last chapter, i’m a kolis sympathizer

also, I WAS SO PISSED THAT ALLES BETRAYED THEM!!! i was starting to vibe with his flirtatious and he goes and kidnaps sera and turns her over to kolis 🧍🏻♀�

i wanna read this for these two but i don’t wanna read the previous series and i’m sure you know why. 😔 i know they’re not fully connected but still. these two sound adorable though. i’m glad you loved this so much!! 💕 i hope the author doesn’t add or change anything that will ruin the relationship. 😭
elena � I know what you mean Elena ): it’s weird cause JLA says you have to read the other series first but i honestly don’t think you have to! I mean this is a complete prequel series, so i don’t know why you wouldn’t be able to. the world building is very simple to understand! i personally think you could just jump into this series 🥰 I think JLA just wants people to buy her books by saying you need to read the other series lolll I don’t think she’ll do that hehe based one what we know about them in the other series, they’re 100% endgame with zero drama

Agreed on every point. I am SOBBING. The cliffhanger did us dirty. I'm outraged he doesn't have his kardia. This book emotionally ruined me. 5 out of 5, would repeat, would recommend every time.

I’m obsessed with these 2 books and instantly had to re read them! Needing to catch anything and everything I might have missed. They also gave me new perspective on The War of Two Queens making it that much better with linking information (and appearances from fav characters like Reaver<3)I feel there’s a lot more storey to come (both past and present)!!
And I’m curious on your thoughts on how Sera will survive?! I’m thinking maybe Kolis ascends her now??!
