really liked it
bookshelves: health-nutrition, giggles, just-plain-bizarre, nonfiction

This is a journey of a different kind. Sort of like an Eat, Pray, Love for the digestively curious. So I guess that would make it Belch, Gurgle, Fart?

Bettie an Eat, Pray, Love for the digestively curious

funny line :OD

I have this lined up on my nutty NUUT ereader.

Jeanette (Ms. Feisty) This book is full of shit. Hahahahahaha! Good, but a little too much emphasis on fecal matter.

The first few chapters are kinda boring, so don't despair. Further in it gets really funny. Near the end of the book it seemed like every chapter was crap-related, some of it funny, some of it gross.

Erin I've enjoyed the rest of her book and have some advanced knowledge of this system. I'll give it a go.

Jeanette (Ms. Feisty) Erin, the fun thing about the book is that it's not really your average science lesson about the digestive system. She likes to find the most bizarre experiments, historical and current, and visit the people who did them. Really weird shit. (sorry, couldn't resist.)

Julie She gave an excellent interview on WHYY's Fresh Air a few weeks ago. What I most remember is that women fart more...

Yes, well, flatus measurement is an inexact science. We women may fart more frequently because we try to expel daintily rather than letting it out all in one blast. There's no proof that we produce more noxious fumes than men. ;-)
Did she actually use the word fart on the radio?

Scribble Orca This must qualify for shortest regurgitation of what's funny about a book on the whole of Gullet Rumblings.

:) This way no one gets indigestion.

Caroline I have thoroughly enjoyed reading everyone's comments, as well as your quick burp of a review :-D

All in all though I don't think I have the stomach for this book.

Caroline Love the cover!

Hee hee! Well done, well done! :D
I liked the cover too. It's like they took the Rolling Stones tongue logo and yanked open that mouth.

Puns, huh? You think it was all it was cracked up to be?

Jeanette (Ms. Feisty) Annie wrote: "You think it was all it was cracked up to be?"

Haaaaa! It might crack you up as soon as you crack it open, but we might have to initiate a crackdown on crappy word plays.

Aw, ya think you wanna watch your wisecracks, Jeanette? ;~.}
