5 ⭐️ An absolute f*cking DELIGHT!

I don’t know how to wrap my mind around the fact I’m giving a monster romance 5-f*cking-stars. 😂

Summary:

Shades are otherworldly beings from the Shadow Realm that portal to the human world to feed off fear. Hunters are the protectors and killers of Shades.

After centuries of fighting, a peace treaty is brokered. Hunters will stop killing Shades as long as they feed in designated areas, and the King of the Shades will take a Hunter as his bride.

Marrying a terrifying monster might seem like a nightmare to most, but not for Ophelia. At sixteen, Ophelia's parents found her sketchbook depicting lewd art of herself with Shades. They were horrified and turned Ophelia over to the Hunter's Council, who immediately kicked her out of their society. But now, they need her help to fulfill the treaty, and she is all too happy to oblige.

However, there's a little bit of a snag in her plan to finally live out these deep, dark fantasies. "I'd be promised monster fucking, and I wasn't getting any damn monster fucking." 🤣

Allerick, King of the Shades and her new husband, is wary of Ophelia. She is a Hunter and, therefore, cannot be trusted no matter how beautiful, kind, and caring she may seem. It all must be a trick, even that intoxicating sweet scent of fear surrounding her whenever he is near. However, it's not fear at all, but intense arousal. And once he makes this discovery, how long will the King of the Shades wait before he takes his Queen?


My Thoughts:

I f*cking adored this book! There is humor, drama, romance and action- everything you could want in a story.

I can’t even tell you how many times I actually laughed out loud! And the chemistry, tension, and angst between Allerick and Ophelia are so good! I absolutely love them as individuals and as a couple! 💕

Since this is a romance, the focus is mainly on the characters and their relationship, but there’s also an intriguing plot and fascinating world-building!! I never read a story quite like this - with Shades and Hunters - but I’m hooked! I seriously cannot wait for the next book!

This story is available to read on KU, but I loved it so much I will be ordering a physical copy. Let that be proof enough of how awesome it is!

Well, just listened to the audiobook again and it’s just as hilarious and entertaining as the first time! This is my favorite comfort read. 💕
