it was amazing

This is an actual review of the authors work not her political opinions. It makes me furious that people who have not even tried to read the book leave a review. This is another imaginative and curious Cormoran Strike novel. Very heavy on details which is Rowlings pattern. I am not a cartoonie which is what I refer to as the animated serials that stream now days so some of the book was tedious. I nailed the killer early on but was still surprised when it all played out. Another trait of the author, lulling you in to a sense of comfort only to toss curve balls at you. Of course I am sure the story line is not as important to me as the charisma between the lead characters and how far the author will let them go this time. If you are a fan this is another good one!

Theresa Paine So, would you say people should read a book about nazi sympathizers just because it is written well?

message 2: by Sue (new) - rated it 5 stars

Sue Trump, Trump, Trump. Go away Theresa.

Mina I also really have enjoyed the book thus far. The audiobook is a little hard to get through with the chat boxes but still an overall enjoyable book. And I love cormoran and Robyn. Even when the storyline isn't my fav, I stick around for these excellent character developments!

People who try to dictate what others can read ....their world must be so small and petty. Happy Banned Books Week, Trollzzz!!

Sue Thank you for sharing Mina! I also found the audio distracting during the chat box sessions but in the end the names in the chat boxes were important. I may go back and try again!

Avdotja Gus Upcott, whoever you are, I hope you get hit by a truck full of books. Or get trapped in a burning library.

Amy I just reported the commenter (not the reviewer) whose username spoils the ending of the book. Please also report them by clicking on the 3 dots next to their comment, select “other for your reason for reporting, and explain that their username and comments are spoiling the ending of the book. Hopefully ŷ will remove their account and all comments.

Ketsia How do you know early on who the killer is? Genuine question!

message 8: by Pat (new) - rated it 3 stars

Pat K Thanks for the review, Sue. I’ve reported the commenter. I hope they delete all their comments too. Pushing your agenda on people in the form spoilers, does not make anyone support thier cause.

Greg Strom "so some of the book was tedious" try having someone read 8 plus hours of that drek to you. one star

Greg Strom from the New Statesman Imogen West-Knights "Write what you know, they say, and what Rowling unfortunately knows is what it’s like to have your brain pickled by spending too much time online."

Larasaur You are the first person I've heard of who said they guessed the killer in a book in this series.

Selena What gets me is the comments about @long books@/ Have those people read anything longer than a comic or anime?

message 13: by Dylan (new) - added it

Dylan Goddard Selena, it is very fair to say this book is far too long. At 1200 pages it’s probably 4x longer than it needed to be. Mind you, if she didn’t mention Strike smoking, drinking beer or having a painful leg, or the constant ‘will they won’t they with Robin, it would have lost several hundred pages anyway

Teresa I really enjoyed the book although the ending was not as good as the story that led up to it. I don’t have a TV. Am over 60 , and had never paid any attention to things put on social media. So until I was finished and read a few reviews I had no idea what was going on and looked it up on Safari.
She’s entitled to her opinion and in many ways I agree with her. This would mean my brother is no longer gay, he’s just a woman.
