** spoiler alert **
Surprised by all the people hating on this book for various reasons. Yeah I agree with the book being advertised as one thing and then being something else altogether. I think the author did that so that she didn’t give away the twists. All the people hating on the “HEA or lack of, I say that some of the very best and most meaningful romance stories have bittersweet elements. One of the beautiful things about love is that it is created from temporary moments in time, made even more precious by the short amount of time that humans have on the planet.
Anyways, this was a perfect book to read during this time of year. Creepy ghost vibes were great. Aidan was amazing and perfect. I really really felt the experience of falling in love so beautifully between Kayla and Aidan. The passion flies off the page and the sex was so hot! I admit during the first part of the book I thought it might be ripping off Haunting Adeline because I saw a bunch of similarities. But then it shifted and became a different story. It got a little confusing which made me need to immediately reread/skim again to try to figure it out.
The ending was so so sad that I cried and I rarely do for books anymore. It was sad and it was beautiful. I can see why the sadness upset people looking for their romance fix. First book by this author, but the writing and storytelling were amazing so I will be checking out more of her stuff.
