ana huang knows her audience. she doesn’t have to write the most heart-wrenching stories to please us. while her books can be hit or miss, im glad this was wayy better than king of wrath

i can already tell you i’m going to devour all 7 of these books like it’s my last meal 🧘🏻‍♀��

kai (H) is an heir to his family’s multi-billion dollar company, while isabella (h) is a bartender and struggling author who can’t seem to finish anything she starts

i’m really glad ana decided to switch up the formula with this! she was leaning too heavily on the enemies to lovers trend but this was soo refreshing from her. this had a more friends to lovers, forbidden feel to it and it ATE (partially)

while kai is an uptight, rule-follower…isabella is a rebellious, rule-breaker and i loved how opposite they were

i must say the romance got a little bland after the 50% mark, but the buildup and the way she ruffled his feathers was so good 😩

kai honestly had some hot lines and it makes it even hotter when you remember he’s all straight-laced with his little glasses��

the plot was very linear but i think we’re all accepted that that’s not ana’s strong suit which is fine 🤷🏻‍♀�� it’s nice to stick to what we’re all here for

note: vivian is as insufferable in this book as she was in KOW, the christian cameo 😩🤞🏻

honorable mention: the scene in the hidden room behind the library��
