Yeah, I can't do it.
I tried, for old times' sake, because it's Marie Lu, but I have definitely outgrown stories like this. I'm too old, grumpy and sleep-deprived to suspend disbelief for teen secret agents whose beauty we need to be constantly reminded of. The last straw was:
Come to think of it... I'm pretty sure I disliked descriptions like that at sixteen too. Not to worry. There's plenty of folks who'll love this.

Come to think of it... I'm pretty sure I disliked descriptions like that at sixteen too. Not to worry. There's plenty of folks who'll love this.

I read the synopsis and it just sounds so incredibly YA. This definitely hammers home the fact that I've outgrown these kind of books
I've seen this new thing where people are able to mark books as dnf. How are you doing that?

Add a shelf named dnf or how it suits you and select it as exclusive or something similar so you can add it and not be counted as "Want to Read" etc.

@Ali - She has a personal bookshelf called dnf and shelved the book into it. On your main profile you can create your own bookshelves with whatever names you like :) Hope this helps

cheers to being old grumpy and sleep deprived. same and i'm done with this stuff too. we had a good run but after reading this quote...i sure don't miss it.
I stuck it out and gave it 2.5 stars. It was so boring with one dimensional characters.
Oh no, that is so disappointing. I was really excited for this as I really loved The Young Elites, Warcross or even The Kingdom of Back with Nannerl... :(

It had nothing to do with your age. YA sucks these days.
I did think it was over the top with the descriptions. It made the enemies to lovers less believable when they immediately felt attracted to each other.
I was excited to see she had a new(ish) book until I read the summary.
written at a grade 3 or 4 level for young teenagers (this book is ridiculous) and the ending sucks.
