Loved the book and though it's a hard subject to deal with growing up in WWII Germany and yes there were some good Germans who suffered too; it is important to read and pass on. I think this is a YA book and though it deals with lots of death (don't they all) important lessons are learned with much injected humor to make it more easily bearable.
