really liked it

oh wow - what a book. i was always in two minds about this book. i bought it for a friend as a gift, but she saw the movie and wasn't keen to read the book. i said, no problem - i'll get you something else, a book freak doesn't mind another book ... ;)

now i'm soooo glad i read it - i really enjoyed the story so much and the style of writing was most appealing. one of those books you cannot put down ...

Deb You read it! I think we were in the same "two minds" about this book. I still haven't gathered the courage to pick it up and take it to the cash register all the many times I've held it in my hands in the book store. lol So, it's worth reading..??

Margitte I haven't read the book, but the movie was one of the best in a very long time.

Deb Really Margitte? I tried watching the movie on cable tv and it didn't keep my attention I turned it off. I think that's why I'm so unsure about the book. Although, a lot of times books are much much better than movies... I just don't know.

Margitte Lolol. For some or other reason it captured my attention and I sat mesmerized. Perhaps it was due to the elephants in the story. I was intrigued by Francis Lawrence, the director's approach in the movie - the detail they included - the special effects. The performances of the actors were really really great! I even read more about the locations of the movie set afterwards! It's not something I normally do. You have me inspired now - I think I will have to read the book. Perhaps you would like to take a chance too now :-))

If you're interested you can read more about the movie sets here:

Julia i didn't watch the movie, as it doesn't seem like my kind of movie and i can't stand robert pattinson.

but yes debbie, definitely worth the read - i really enjoyed it.

Karen Yes, one of those books you can't put down! Even if it can be a bit shocking and have it's moments... I am so glad you liked this one Julia. :)

Julia yes, definitely shocking, but all in all an excellent book.
