it's a weird experience to read an author for the first time by picking up the book everyone agrees is the worse example of their style.
it's hard not to chalk up my criticisms to it being less successful than a book i haven't read.
this is clever and ambitious, but in spite of the afterword's claims that this protagonist is one of the few of note in modern fiction, i couldn't click with kate ennis, and my interest in her nonlinear story drifted.
the upside is now i'm convinced i need to read more from this author.
bottom line: proso and cons!

another cover buy...but in my defense this is a literal work of art
