I finally got to this one because I like to read it before streaming the series. I know many friends who loved this book but myself not being a huge fan of the period (the 70s-bell bottoms and blazer 😼), I thought of skipping it. One other reason is I don't normally read about music but I do enjoy music biopics.
So yea, I changed my mind! 1. the SHOW has actors I like (Sam Claflin🤩) and 2. TJR somehow made me love a book about tennis, a sport I don't watch or play. I know through her writing I'll enjoy this one too.
I mostly read books through audio and Daisy Jones & The Six audio production is just awesome with dozens upon dozens of narrators, many of whom I recognize the voice so it was a real treat.
As far as the plot goes, I keep waiting for something to happen, I don't feel a strong connection with any characters or the story but didn't dislike it either. I felt it was kind of sad. The ending was touching so I'm going to bump it up. 🌼🎤🎸

I thought seriously about reading before starting the new series, but decided not to wait. You wrote a good review Kay and the book sounds worth it. Thinking maybe I'll try one of Ried's others. Enjoy the show!
I’ve heard the audio for this is amazing but I haven’t checked it out yet…definitely curious about whether I’ll enjoy the series, but I’m hopeful! TJR got me to enjoy a book about tennis too, she is some type of wizard! 😂 glad you enjoyed Kay! 💕

I'm glad I read it but she certainly has better ones imo, I know this book is very popular so I'm just one of the few who didn't love it.

I liked the narration too, but I also felt a bit of a disconnect with the characters and story. Great review, Kay! 💖
I actually dnf'ed this. Mostly because of the writing style, I'm not a fan. Still planning to watch the series though, because yes, it's Sam Claflin. Haha! Glad you enjoyed this one, Kay! 😊💖

I loved this book but not as much as Evelyn Hugo or Malibu Rising. I had no idea the series was already ready! Excellent review.
