Book safety, content warnings, and tropes down below.

“[…] He blinks at me with an innocent look on his angelic face. “You’re either really good at manipulation or terrible at it because I can see right through your act, but I still want to do it.

I liked this book the first time I read it, and after having Iggy Toma talk sweet nothings in my ears for a few hours, I liked it even more. Iggy Toma can do no wrong, and maybe Eden Finley can't either. I'll have to read more to make sure!

I’m wondering when normal people go shopping, who’s there to tell you to stay away from the candy? My feet move in the direction of delicious treats.

A semi-closeted ex boy band pop star and his badass bodyguard. It's literally perfect. I am a fiend for romantic suspense, and even though I felt like the romance was on point for what this book is, I wish the suspense part was played up a bit more. More creepy stuff, more risk and danger. You know, the good stuff. Overall it's a really enjoyable book, and I really like the main characters, Harley and Brix.

No matter how successful I get, I’ll always want more. Because hiding behind a career is easier than going for what I want. And what I want is to be loved. Truly loved.

If the danger to Harley (the whole reason for getting Brix as a bodyguard) had been a bigger part of the book, it would have been an easy 5 stars for me.

A balled-up piece of paper hits my head from Harley’s direction. It seems he’s picked up a new favorite hobby: taking out his writing frustrations on me. His aim is getting better, I’ll give him that.

I hesitantly hand him the gun, and I’m reluctant to let it go. Until he smiles. “I won’t shoot you. I promise. Geez, with his angelic features, he could’ve told me he
will shoot me, and I’d still hand over the gun.

Imme van Gorp Did you read book 5 in the Fake Boyfriend series?? Because Harley was the ex in that book and I really thought I was not gonna like him based on that, but then I read this and I was immediately like: 🥺🥺🥺

I have not! But i did realise there was another book with that story in it, and I figured I wouldn't like Harley much if I read it, lol. Harley is an adorable sheltered lonely pop star baby. I love how Brix was like "of course I'll leave my job and follow you around the world". They're the cutest
