Tamar...playing hooky for a few hours today's review
Oct 15, 2020
Read 2 times. Last read October 2020.
Do you ever feel like you are reading the same book over and over? I’m an outlier here. I thought the book was good, not great. There weren’t many surprises, a ton of zigzagging in time (over a two-day weekend), and when a murder finally occurred it was anticlimactic. The victim was a piece of work and everyone could have cheered at the death (ten people on a train could have committed it in the dark as the train barreled through a tunnel). To add insult to injury, an unnecessary epilogue was tacked onto the end. I was reading One by One at the same time and I had to stop because I thought I was reading the same book (like a soap opera whose plot never changes after ten years) - No matter where I picked up, I felt like I hadn’t missed anything. I stopped the Ware to finish The Guest List. I’ll go back to the Ware next week, after I’ve cleaned my palate.
I don't mean to be cranky, I'm disappointed.

Locked room mystery that felt a lot like a repeat of her last novel. A bunch of numbnut boarding school and Uni buddies who either haven't grown up or have dark secrets in their past, get together for the wedding of one of buds. Hope you enjoy. I don't recommend reading One by One at the same time...

The disappointment was because I've been waiting for over a year for this book and it felt like I was reading the Hunting Party all over again in a different venue and a new collection of dysfunctional friendships. It wasn't a bad book; I was looking for more of her talent, maybe the next level.

Thanks Samantha. The book was too close in time and too similar to the last, and not a refreshing twist on a popular genre.

Thanks Michael. I was so disappointed because I wanted to be blown away.😊

This one was a disappointment, especially because my anticipations were so high. I went back to the WARE and I LOVED IT.

I'll live (and be panting for the next one too)🤣🤣🤣

I hope her next one is feels a little more original
