it was amazing
bookshelves: read-with-isadora, fiction, dystopian

I read this with my 11 year old, and what a beautiful book! You don't know what you are missing until you experience it. Colors, family, love, beauty - our lives create emotional ups and downs, but that makes them beautiful.

Libby There's also a great film "The giver" (2014) based on this book :)

Otis Chandler I saw that, but it seemed like it wasn't appropriate for 11 year olds according to Common Sense Media anyways.

Emily Anthonisen The audio version is great. It's not too long and very absorbing. It got me through some heavy traffic.
