While i was reading it i made a list of why someone should read this book!! Warning: there are full spoilers for the first half of the book so if you want to go in blind, don't read them!! For anyone that might not know, this is a marriage of convenience book (maybe that should be my first reason on the list but anw i am puting it here)

1) HE HAS DIMPLES

2) He was always quiet around her but never an asshole, but when his creepy teammate was hitting on her:

Through the lens though, I found Aiden glowering over in my direction, his trainer a few feet away jotting down something on the clipboard he’d been holding.
I was torn between waving and getting up, but Aiden beat me to decision making by saying loudly, “You can leave now.��
And then continued to be really pissed off
(i am convinced he is obsessed with her)

3) the way he is always worried about her:

I had just closed the door when Aiden stopped in the hallway, hands on his hips, giving me a hard glare that I didn’t understand. “You live with drug dealers.��

4) this scene:

“Do you need something?�� “You.��
[...] His nostrils flared, and he tipped his chin up high, his jawline accentuating. This massive man who faced other big men for a living was glowering at me. At me. “Do you have a boyfriend?��
(Again, obsessed!!!)

5) The way he kept apologising when she was pissed off:

“Forgive me.�� His tone was rougher than ever, seemingly dragged through sand, and then covered in shards of glass. Yet somehow, it sounded like the most real, heartfelt thing to ever come out of his mouth, at least in front of me.
(Many more scenes but you will have to read to find out!)

6) Again, dimples+apologising+his clearly having a crush:

Lifting his head completely, a dimple in his cheek popped out of nowhere, and he raised his hands to cup the sides of his head. “I’m no good at this kind of stuff. I would rather give you money than have to beg, but I will if that’s what you want,�� he admitted, sounding about as vulnerable as ever. “You’re the only person I would want to do this with me.��

7) no comments here:

“Could you get my girl a coffee?��

8) the way he is needy for her in his own way:

“Look, everything is fine—�� I started to say before he cut me off with a shake of his head.“It isn’t. You don’t smile anymore. You haven’t called me big guy or given me hell,�� he stated.

9) his protectiveness:

“What are you doing?�� he snapped the instant he was close enough to be heard.
I lifted my shoulders, shoving my glasses up the bridge of my nose in the process. “Walking around.��
“You could have woken me up to come with you,�� he practically hissed, stopping a foot away from me.
There’s crime here—don’t give me that face. I know there’s crime everywhere. We might not be doing this for the reasons most people do, but I made a vow, Van. And I promised you we would try to be friends. Friends don’t let friends wander around alone.�� He pinned me with a glare. “You aren’t the only one who takes their promises seriously.��

10) when he casually does things like that in front of strangers:

Aiden settled for shrugging a shoulder as he turned his body to face me. Nothing about his expression or body language gave me a warning. “She’s my wife.��
Time stopped.
What the hell did he just say?
“Handle it for me, would you, Muffin?��

11) her sister's husband grabbed her and bruised her hand on a fight. Aiden's reaction is planning on driving 8 hours to their place to beat him up:

“If someone messes with you, they’re going to mess with me, Van. I don’t want to hurt your feelings. I might not be good with this friend crap, but I’m not about to let somebody get away with hurting you. Ever. Do you understand me?��

12) she is afraid of the dark and there is hurt-comfort. I am spoiling nothing else in here!!!!!!!

13) her friendship with zac (hide spoiler)]

As i said, these are all from the first half of the book!! There are WAY more DELICIOUS things in the last 50% of the book, as always with MZ's books, but i decided i wanna spoil nothing of the last half! Yall read it to find out 🤭🤭
