Flannery O'Conner has twisty sick mind. I like it. Wow. This short story is not what you would expect from the title. I do not plan to say anything more because I want everyone to discover the plot for themselves.
I previously read Wise Blood by the author which was was very strange\. The subject was not to my taste but it was a very interesting read.

This reminds me that I need some more Southern Gothic lit in my life : ) I do miss it and I don't know why I've (albeit unintentionally) neglected it for so long, but I remember enjoying Flannery O'Connor . Pretty sure I've read this one, not sure why I've not recorded it, but I think your review is very fitting, Adina : )

My wife tipped me off on this short story before I read it but I still had to laugh when I finally did!

I also enjoyed the short story "Everything That Rises Must Converge" which is also the title of a collection.
That feel of revulsion at the end lingers for quite a while. O'Connor is a skilled writer that can certainly grab a reader.
