This is great. Very typical of PKD only maybe a bit more horrific than some of his others as it goes on. I am surprised it's not been a film.
His male protagonist, Joe Chipp, is often ogling women who are late teens, and there's a lot of sexism in his descriptions and assumptions, so older women get described in very unflattering terms and he loves a bit of fat shaming as well.
However the interesting thing is that none of these women are bothered, they mostly have the upper hand, and the main character is really a bit gormless in pursuing them. Not sure if that's a self insert but if it is, then good for him for not making himself a hero. It is similar to how PKD was in his later years.
It's about a world where organisations pay people to read your mind, and also to tell the future. So there are insurance organisations who employ people to counter that if you suspect it's happening. Joe Chipp works for one of these, and someone is out to get them.
