I love diving into a new Sarah J Maas world! Celaena is such a fun, unexpected character from the start. I found that my love for her grew from the moment she poured heaps of sugar into her porridge.

She is a strong young woman who has had to fight far too many battles at this point in her life (eighteen mind you). But somehow, this deadly assassin steals your heart quickly. The love interest...or possible interests are perfection. I've been debating with my hubs who she will end up with the entire book.

And the trials?! So much fun to read. I am always here for a good competition thrown into the mix, and that's precisely what this book brought to the table. I loved seeing Celaena build up her physical and mental strength while also (for what seems like the first time in a long time) making meaningful connections with others. I'm itching to start book two, where I'm sure allll of themagic happens. This is a book that leaves you craving for more!
