This collection was filled with both little gems and some much less captivating stories. If you're looking to enjoy Andersen's best work, here’s the ones I recommend (and skip the rest) :
- "The Little Mermaid", timeless and enchanting story of love, sacrifice, and transformation,
-"The Ugly Duckling", self-discovery and the beauty that lies within,
- "The Emperor's New Clothes", a satirical story about vanity and deception,
- "The Snow Queen" - friendship and adventure in a magical, frozen world,
- "The Princess and the Pea" - whimsical and enchanting
