Regina Lowndes I am in the process of listening to the audio book with just a few hours left. I came here to see if others are as drawn in and moved as I am. Perhaps, as stated in reviews of the book, it is laborious for some to read long descriptive text, but listening to his voice paint pictures with precisely chosen words has been an experience that I don’t want to end.

Judy I have another 3 hours of listening to the author read and I don’t want it to end either. I chose to listen when I saw how long the book was. Wise choice as I am never bored by his voice and the story he is telling. Another masterpiece by the author!

Elizabeth I'm listening to the Audible version now. I'm just a few hours in but the narration (by the author) and the writing are magical, transporting me to another world. The book even got me through two hours of a grueling dental procedure!

Becky I loved the audio version - just finished and am sad that it’s over!

Karen Lovely review Aria.

Michael Rourke Great review thank you. I'm going to tackle this one as soon as I can get a copy from the library (there's still a long wait list).

Nancy Yes. I agree the audio experience was superb. It still took a long, long time. I had to return the audio book when I was 85% finished. Reading the rest of it was OK, but I really missed the storytellers input. I also think it would’ve been a lot harder if I wasn’t familiar with any of the names when I started reading.

Patricia Callahan I just finished the audiobook and am sad it is over but what a great book

Joe Harrington Thirty minutes in I was ready to give it up. Since I had invested a
valuable Audible credit, I decided to give it a little more effort. At ten hours, I am captivated. Narration by the author is a plus as he KNOWS the story that he narrates, it's his.
The length didn't deter me as I have about thirty hours of driving planned in a couple of weeks, but not sure I can make it last until then.

Sharon Wirzba I‘m puzzled by your comment that this book is for fantasy lovers, as it is realistic historical fiction with only a small element of magical realism in the capabilities of Baby Mol, one minor character. What you describe as “world building is just careful description of southern India, not the world building one would find in a fantasy novel.

Jo I am reading this right now and feel as you do. I am loving the characters and I'm only on pg. 334, but I am beginning to see how these characters will probably be brought together. This author is an awesome writer! I love Cutting for Stone, and while initially I had trouble with the humid, wet environment in the beginning, I am loving this book too, and curious how it will unfold from here.
