Lmao yea that pissed me off, rating a book before it’s out and just shitting on it😒. Chloe knows her characters best and to be butthurt about it and spread negativity? Idk man, it’s annoying me. Plus I remember she took a break because of stuff she was dealing with, don’t know much but the negativity online definitely played a role. Why attack an author for her choice on her releases? Whatever I’m getting too worked up about this. Regardless we get a book from Chloe so I think it’s a win. If you’re truly a fan and wanna shit on a book before it comes out, I think it’s pretty messed up. Why can't we just chill and read bruh? Anyway, I'm excited girl💖💖

And if you actually read the books you will see that Gibsie’s storyline was always a mystery with hints in this way. Joey’s comparison was messed up but not worth 1 star of a whole book when the other books also have strange quotes.

Y’all don’t get it. CW literally destroys her characters. If you don’t think Claire will be the villain in her book you’re wrong and you’ll hate it. If Lizzie wasn’t getting a book then her being the villain would be fine and make total sense but CW has pushed Lizzie onto these readers and then totally ruined her character. Thats frustrating. Claire hasn’t dealt with ANY trauma. She’s not a character a lot of people can relate to.

Love this! I can’t stand the Lizzie stans 🤦🏼‍♀�� They have unfortunately ruined the character for me. I love Claire and Gibsie. I’m so glad Claire stood up for Gibsie after the relentless bullying from Lizzie. It disgusts me how people can rate it 1 star based off spoilers.

I loved this book and I think Lizzie’s behavior is awful but I’m just confused because in my eyes Lizzie can still redeem herself. She is a hurt/ traumatized teenager.
This book made me actually look forward to her redemption arc in the next books.

i get what yall are saying but can we really blame her for acting the way she’s acting , she didn’t know the TRUTH . we can’t blame her for going off on what was told to her. AND CANT expect her magically know the truth when gibs wasn’t ready to reveal it. Now that she knows she has a chance to redeem herself.

All this Lizzie hate is ridiculous I’m in no way saying what Lizzie said was okay because it wasn’t but I think you guys aren’t getting the fact that Lizzie is a traumatized teenager she’s grieving. For gibsie for example his defense mechanism is humor but Lizzie’s defense mechanism is being mean/rude reactions to grief varies so differently. Even when Johnny was comparing her to Shannon like ppl do not respond the same to trauma and let’s remember that Lizzie didn’t even know the real TRUTH of what happened because gibsie wasn’t ready to tell so can we really blame her for acting the way she did clearly some people just don’t understand trauma and grief I’m extremely excited for her book because I know she’s going to have a good redemption arc

yes, Lizzie is a traumatized teenager who is grieving the loss of a loved one, but that doesn't excuse her being a bully, and yes, she was essentially being a bully. Sure, she didn't know the real truth, but even after the truth came out, she refused to apologize to Gibsie and even said he was a liar. I honestly don't even know how she'll be redeemed because of her actions in this novel. Also, while you're right that not everyone responds to trauma the same way, it still doesn't excuse the way she acted in this book. I just didn't like the way she threw his trauma back in his face and kept getting a pass for it by other characters in this novel because of her trauma. I do understand where you're coming from though, but this is just my take on Lizzie and her behavior.

Lizzie is nothing but a bully. Trauma is not an excuse for being a raging bitch to everyone. And why did she hate gibsie when he was 11 when her sister died, even if what she thought was actually true, her hate towards gibsie is so unwarranted because he didn’t do anything. She is a horrible person who just cannot be redeemed.
