Another new romance book release that turned out to be a so-called "TikTok book" for me. Meaning, no originality, thousands of popular tropes � some of which make no sense, and overused quotes that would even work on me if I liked or felt any connection to the main characters. Which did not happen in this case.
Let me just give you a few examples of why this story didn’t work out for me.
one The heroine, although tolerable at times, gave me second hand embarrassment. Too many times.
Who talks like that?
He is just a man. Also, do you happen to know such a profession as a bodyguard?
No comment needed.
Also, no comment needed.
two Enemies to lovers, but the hero is mad at the heroine because she broke up with him out of nowhere, and the heroine wants to talk to him why she did it, but he doesn't want to hear it? We love good enemies to lovers.
three The writing style was also embarrassing, and why were there so many brackets?
I just thought to myself, “Another one? And another one? And another one?". Not to mention, they were embarrassing. I know. Shocking.
This is probably just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the things I didn't like here, but fortunately I don't have to discover more because I'm saying goodbye to this book. Sarah Adams was a new author to me � I had never read any of her books, but at least now I know I won't in the future.

“Okay, Derek-bo-berek-fe-fi-fo�"
Also, no comment needed.

I never read any of her books, but just by telling by the essay (and I read it) I’ll actually take it out of my tbr�

No bc I read the cheat sheet by this author and the fmc was so cringey idk why the author does this 😭 the secondhand embarrassment is so real I don’t even blame u for DNF’ing. I’m scared to read practise makes perfect bc I’ve seen sm hype for it and I bought the paperback wml 🙏

I’ve read so many of her books because I like dumb rom coms (sucker for Netflix Christmas movies too 🤣) but they’re all so bad. I may have to quit while I’m ahead and skip this one, especially when there are so many good romance books dropping soon (new Emily Henry, Ashley Poston, & Sarah Adler to name a few)!

I’ve only read the cheat sheet by the author but tbh I don’t consider myself read it because I dnf’d it at 35% 😭😭😭 I couldn’t do it!! They were supposed to be old but they’re so immature and the fmc was was annoying and embarrassed herself alot I couldn’t deal with it it just didn’t make sense 😭😭 i told myself to try and read other books by her because i wanted to give her another chance 😭 but apparently i won’t since she’s following the same style in all her books 😭😭 im sorry this was disappointing tho i hope ur next read it better 🫶🏻
