Vit, I greatly enjoyed this book. I do wonder, however, how would this work be received if it was released today. I enjoy these somewhat corrupt, flawed, almost despicable characteres, but I do think that the audiences of today literature are not open to this kind of discussion. Same with Lolita, for instance.
Yes, Mariana, hypocritical and conformist public hates this kind of books� And they hated these books when they were just published� One American schoolteacher publicly burnt Kurt Vonnegut’s novels� However aesthetically experienced readers enjoy this kind of literature best.
Yes, what a shame it is that this novel will be viewed with suspicion nowadays. What a hypocritical age did we enter into. Such an enjoyable novel it is!
