Wow, "Hopeless" grabbed me yesterday and didn't let me go!
Hopeless was a beautiful and heartbreaking read. This is how I like my New Adult books to be done; full of angst, full of passion, and with surprises that keep me guessing. I was shocked at how emotionally invested I became in the characters.
I had very high expectations for this book. When I first began reading, to be honest, I was wondering if I was going to like this story at all. The writing in the beginning is just kind of...so-so. And when Sky starts on her afternoon run and ends up at Dean's house, I was thinking that this book was going to be a little too much like The Sea of Tranquility. However, soon I was sucked into the world of this book and amazed at what Colleen Hoover brought to the table. This story was powerful and unique and very very special.
If I'm being truthful with myself, if I knew the details of this book prior to reading it, I don't know if I would have picked this one up. It involves two topics that I HATE reading about (MAJOR SPOILER (view spoiler) ). However, I'm so glad that got to experience this book. It will stay with me for a long time.
