it was ok

According to many Goodreaders this is a hilarious memoir by humorist, comic, and author David Sedaris. I read the first few chapters and didn’t laugh once. Someone trying too hard to be witty and clever was my impression. What was I thinking reading a pseudo memoir by someone I don’t know from Adam! I gave up around halfway through.

Lisa Sedaris' humor definitely isn't for everyone. I am hit or miss with him. Some of his pieces work for me and some do not.

Peter Lisa, I think my problem was that I don’t know Sedaris, who I believe is a household name in the USA. My kind of humour is more Billy Connolly!

Jill Hutchinson Good, honest review, Peter. Sedaris is an acquired taste and I can understand why you would not care for his writing.

Peter Thanks Jill

Georgia Scott Billy Connolly! Joyous humor. My favorite, too, Peter.

Peter Georgia, the Big Yin’s still going at 82!

Adina (notifications back, log out, clear cache) Yesh, I did not find him funny either.

Peter Adina, from the comments so far we don’t seem to be alone!
