Lucy Young has grown tired of her twenty-something life. She finds a wishing machine and makes a wish that she can skip to "the good part." She wakes up in her future self -- sixteen years older. Talk about a shock. She is now a wife and a mother and a TV producer.
What she begins to realize is that the journey is just as important as the destination. While this was not my favorite book from Sophie Cousens, I must commend her for the engaging child characters she has added to many of her books. Felix Rutherford, 7, is one of the most endearing children I have met in a romcom. He is the first one to realize that his mummy is not really in there and asks if the space aliens would please return her when they are done with their experiments. When Lucy confides her dilemma, he is totally invested in helping her find the wishing machine/portal. Loved that kid! I would also add that Sam Rutherford, Lucy's in-the-future husband is also quite the dreamboat.
Kerry Gilbert is to be commended on her narration. This was an enjoyable audio book and accompanied me on walks with the dog and drives around town.

We'll see, Angela. It does sound fun. 😎

Thank you, Lisa. You were so right. Felix was the best part -- and Sam. It was hilarious when she first wakes up and I loved the fact that Mr. Finkley was the second person she told about her time travelling.😎

Thanks, Jayme. It is worth circling back to. 😎

Thank you, Krystal. Dog walking time is a great time for audio books! 🐕🎧🥰

Thank you, Tina! I am all caught up on my Sophie Cousens now.😎

Thank you, Amina. I just wanted to give little Felix a big hug!🤗

Yes! It is like that. One of my favorite movies! 🥰

So true. If you skip the journey, the destination just isn't the same. Thanks, Thibault!

Thanks, Debbie. Happy this was one earned all the stars for you.🌟
