This was such a fun and entertaining read. I know some people say it dragged, but I personally enjoyed the slow burn of it all.
I loved the way this was written and how every single part of the book was important and played a part in the end.
I was invested from the start. I do have to say the first 70% was way more interesting than the last 30%.
I thought the ending was almost satisfying. I only wish a certain character suffered more😒 and other characters weren't so stupid or act stupid.

Short to the point synopsis
Bel’s mother, Rachel, disappeared 16 years ago. Everywhere Bel goes she is reminded of her. Bel and her father agree to do this documentary discussing the disappearance. While shooting this documentary, Rachel appears and she is back in town. It is unbelievable and shocking. As Rachel returns more and more questions come up and Bel can’t help but believe Rachel might not be telling the truth about what happened. All Bel knows is she has to get to the bottom of this and all with the help of one of the camera crew, Ash, from the documentary.

I can see that not everyone would enjoy the main character, Bel. She is rude, sarcastic, and kind of arrogant. But I do have to say I enjoyed her. She is definitely flawed. She has reasons for why she is the way she is (mommy issues). Of course, that is not an excuse, but it was fun to read about someone who isn't that likable. The only time she actually got me mad was how she treated Carter sometimes.
I thought all the characters at least had something about them. It didn't seem like there was a character for no reason
The “romance of it could have been better. I really enjoyed Ash and their banter. I did think sometimes Bel was undeserving of him. He was there for her no matter what and always gave her the benefit of the doubt.
The most annoying part of this whole book was the fact that Rachel could not call Bel her name. It was always “Annabel no matter how much Bel corrected her. Then would be the stuttering of her name. For example, “An-Bel and
“B-Bel. I didn't think it would be that hard lol.

Spoilers ahead
My favorite character was Rachel. Literally from the start. I felt so bad for her. No one except for Carter was on her side. I am just happy she got what she wanted in the end.
Also, why didn't Bel and Ash end up together? I am so upset lol.

Going through all these reviews, I didn't realize how many people truly did not like the book. I guess I would only recommend it if you like a slow burn and a rude fmc lol. I had a great time.
