this was not just a book,
this was an experience.
I really really enjoyed this book, it was refreshing, different from my usual reads (in my classics era??) but I have to say that there are some parts that are slow and personally I had to stay concentrated to understand fully what was going on😗 definitely something I would't read before going to sleep, after a tiring day. Like imagine reading this quote when your eyes are about to close and your mind is directed to dreamland:
I had to think twice what I was reading about and it wasn't even night, the classics effect
okay or maybe I'm just dumb

anywayy let's see what this book is about🤭
⋆˚🖇️⊹⁀ plot
this book follows an extremely handsome man called Dorian Gray, in 1800, and his transformation from a good and innocent person begins with Lord Henry's words and, as Dorian sees his own beauty in his self-portrait, made by Basil, an artist who is extremely passionate and fond of him, listening to Lord Henry's words, he starts believing that there is nothing better than pleasure and sin, and that youth and beauty are more important than anything else in the world. The Picture of Dorian Gray is a story about a person's growth and self-discovery, their beliefs and development.
Dorian was so focused on the portrait and his beauty that he sold his soul for eternal youth
⋆˚🖇️⊹⁀ characters
Basil Hallward
he is the artist who made the portrait for Dorian, a dear friend of him, a cutie patootie (also the only "normal" one 😭) he probably had the biggest crush on him. Basil was the only one who saw Dorian's great secret, the change in the painting.
Lord Henry
omgg let's not talk about him, he's such a manipulative ass, and although almost everything he said was very quotable, the way he talked about women was a big no.No wonder his wife left him😔I partially blame him for Dorian's downfall, sometimes he gave valid advices but then again he said things that's quite...controversial. Let's meet him through some quotes:
a very wise man, right? But then he says things like this:
thank you sir, if men are like this, I'm never gonna get married 😍
Dorian Gray
he was an icon, a vibe; until he did what he did to my bb Basil!! he was just trying to put some sense in that silly head of yours, you fool🙄 but other than that😌 I actually liked him, very much. He made some questionable decisions as he "aged", and became besties with lord Henry, but he felt like a real person, and that's partially why I gave such a high rating to this book, all the characters, with their flaws and imperfections, are so well-described, I'm impressed🥹
I watched a film based on this book and daaaamn, didn't disappoint at all🤭Ben Barnes represented Dorian Gray perfectly and his acting!! omgg, I'm in love😣💫
